Board sent on the 18/02/2011 from WA and still waiting. Have been given the run around by both companies for ages and no clear answers on where the board is located.

No problem with the seller sending it, he did all the right things, but the carriers fnkd up bigtime..........

At the moment it seems unlikely its going to turn up at all..................

So if you are buying a board or shipping one - beware of both these companies!!!!

You have been warned!

K Dog...I heard a whisper that you recently sold a board and were using the 'Hunter Express' to transport it to it's new home?!

Yeah - really frustrated.... need beerz X 24 tonight.....

Insured..... this is the part that I look real silly or silly-er than normal X 24

I think most transport companies offer some insurance which is structured into the freight cost, TNT for example, basic cover is up to $1000.

One thing I have noticed with e-go is that their tracking system can lag behind a few days and things between NSW and WA seem to go into a big black hole and come out the other side. I guess it depends on what loads are coming back and where they can fit stuff in.

That sounds about right as to what has probably happened. I think I'll get it, but probably around May :/

Found out - got insurance, so covered. But still - board is better

Like almost anything on the internet, its only the people that have had problems that complain, so it can often lead to a very negative opinion of things.

I haven't read the reviews, but my experiences with e-go have been great. In reality its the same service as the 'name' couriers, but run on a shoe string budget to reduce costs. You get not much as far as customer service goes, but that is where you should be saving money.

If you want a full service courier, then you will end up paying more. Well at least that's my thinking.

I have sent heaps of sails using them, and when I send something it is wrapped well. As most things are charged on cubic volume, you can go overboard with the wrapping as it adds nothing to the freight charge. The last ones I sent where wrapped in marine carpet, and if they managed to pierce that, it would have been a good effort!

Their rate from WA to the eastern states is excellent, probably because more things are sent to WA than from.

Those links with the comments from the users on their service is pure gold. I cant believe they are still in business!

Sh1t happens - and it did. Naturally nobody likes it when stuff goes missing - especially for a month!!!!!

But I don't care now about all the communication issues, all good once I have it (in good order - fingers crossed).

Wonder if this is it? After all no label means that there is no guarantee this is what you bought!

I guess because we work in professional orgs you are used to reasonably good followups, people checking things down the line and trouble shooting and so carry that expectation into other aspects of your life.

But being a budget carrier, they aren't focusing on faulting or communicating to the level we are probably used to - so issues slip through to the keeper

I guess the label coming off is just one of those things...... and not having an answer for your client - well, they think the worst........

Now that they have found it, perhaps you should change the title to "USE ... Transport with Care!"

I've actually had a good run with them, well twice anyway. Very cheap if you send Depot-to-Depot and both cases has been recieved within 5 working days...or 7 realistically as a weekend always gets in the way. I'll give 'em another shot next week but this time Depot-to-Door with a big box from Mid-Coast NSW to Tassie. This'll be an interesting test.

To be fair I have used e-go hundreds of times - i have so far had nothing actually go missing, I have had a few things in the early days where the label came off and it took a while for them to find out where to send the parcel.
It clearly stipulates in the labelling instructions.
"write the delivery address in marker pen" on the parcel as well as taping the printed con-note onto the parcel.
If you do this you will have no problems.

I have sent maybe 30 boards this way and had only one very slightly damaged but that was also 1/2 the fault of bad packing from Cobra!

A cautionary point.

From my experience, never deal with UPS if going international. They have been the worst company ever for me to deal with.

Terrible mishandling of goods and terrible follow-up.

not keen on couriers of any type.... infact i avoid them.

a few years ago I sold an epoxy longboard and the interstate buyer asked if he could send a courier although I had stated local pickup

i agreed and to be sure I packed it extra well...

a few unpaid hours wrapping it thick in cardboard and taping

lucky i did as the upsetting thing is the courier delighted in heaving the board 20 foot into the truck on top of everything, reckon they delight in showing their indifference to your order.

imagine how many more truck transfers these boards endure...

this came after a delivery to me where a similar courier delivered a rare vintage synthesizer sound module to me [size and shape [deeper in rear] of 19" rack mount cassette deck or amplifier] ..he held the box arms length with me almost in reach and simply threw the box forward at my feet from a height of 4 foot...with force with a look of indifference on his face

I say simply, I dont trust any of them
