Our Tabou mad cow waveboard has a crack in the nose.
It is about 1-2cm long and looks more than paint deep.
What is the simplest effective repair to make sure no water gets in?

I'm sure he'd prefer to get it before it is covered in kneadit.

Just for a quickie I'd cut a 3mm wide slot, 10 to 20mm long with a 5mm under cut, cut some 3mm long glass fibers mixed with Q cells and epoxy resin (the good stuff) and inject it in so all you'll end up with is just a white stripe after sanding, easy to paint touch up. After using it check for any salt crystals forming around it , if none then good job.

If you had a fiberglass boat these materials will be on the toool box on your boat.

Hi buster, If you use that Selley's repair kit on your board you could damage it beyond repair. It is polyester not epoxy.
You're right, fibre glass repairs are not rocket science. They are actually pretty easy if you have a basic understanding of different resins, glass products and their applications.
If you can buy resin, glass, fillers and paint to match your board for $30.00 then you would be silly not to do it yourself.

superglue[dunno bout varnish but superglue works well for minor cracks ]

Superglue would be a disaster if the cracks go deeper than first thought wouldn't it? 5 min Araldite would be better, at least then it's still epoxy.
