Anybody know of a good cheap courier to send full kits from Sydney to Melbourne

good and cheap, hard task!

most of them will be able to freight syd to melb in a short time frame.

most of them will work on volume, so dont go too crazy on the packaging.

who ever you choose, MAKE SURE you do go crazy with the bright orange fragile tape... and TOP LOAD stickers...

try TNT, Toll Priority, Allied

if you can deliver and collect to their city depots, it will also keep the price down.

If the board can be dropped of and picked up at the airport try Australian air Express.
One board cost $40 from Brisbane to Sydney not bad.

Simon Transport is worth ago, I use them to ship glass interstate and they are yet to break any.
I also shipped a MG (14" skiff) to Rye from Sydney and it arrived all well and good the very next day for $300. Dropping and collecting at the depot is certainly the way to go.
