Hi all

Does anyone who wears contact lenses on the water have any brand recommendations? I have some daily disposables (Acuvue Trueye) which are super thin and comfortable for day wear but (perhaps because of their thin-ness) are not great in salt water and go quite filmy, turning me virtually blind on a bad day.

Been wearing fortnightly Acuvue Oasys disposables for the last 10 years windsurfing, they are great, been wearing lenses for 30 yrs windsurfing and never lost a set or had issues!!

I lost my normal ( expensive) lens the first time I went in the surf and opened my eyes as a wave came through..dur.. Got $10 disposables after that and no worries ( also remembered to close my eyes when wiped out...)

I have been using Johnson and Johnson 1 day acuvue moist for the last two years and never had any problems with them falling out. They have a UV blocking feature also. Now if only they came polarized lol.

I've been using B&L SofLens daily disposables for windsurfing for more than 5 years now and never had any problems.

I am using contact lenses for windsurfing ever since (started in 1979). Never used dailies, I am OK with my usual monthlies, now I am using CooperVision 55 aspheric, really great, tough enough to withstand the occasional wiping to get clear of salt and water, great optical performance. Anyhow it's a matter of fit to each one's eyes, one has to test a few ones in order to find what's good for him.

I have been wearing contacts daily for 30 years: windsurf, surf, snorkel, whitewater kayak, swim, shower, etc. Take them out at night though.
Have been using the Acuvue for quite a few years now. They are the the 2 week ones, but I find that if you clean them regularly, especially after salt water use, they can last up to 6 months, therefore work out quite cheap. They are also UV proof. So they claim.

That turning filmy thing doesn't sound good.
