Recently I drove down to Miami and bought an '06 Fanatic Shark 145 which was hardly used. It came with a 50 cm stock fin. I haven't really used stock fins much since I usually buy discounted boards and then purchase an after market fin company product with the money I saved. This time around, I am going to take my time with the fin and give it a good testing before deciding on a new fin to replace it. However, I really didn't think it was up-to-snuff the last session I put in two days ago. It just felt too loose to me. I remember how much I liked the 54 cm Tectonic's Mirage I last used with my 160 liter Naish Icon and how badly the last sailing experience I had with the stock 50cm that came with that board. I was told that the stock fins had improved over the years, but I'm really starting to wonder about that. I put up a message on a U.S. forum regarding the Naish fin and got mixed opinions. Futhermore, although many have claimed that older Mistral fins were crap, I have one which was a shop discard that has served me quite well. The 54 cm fin was matched to a 9.6 camberless sail. The 50 cm I have been using with a 9.0 double cambered sail. I already found a 54cm fin for an affordable price, but I still wonder about this Carbon GTX Pre Preg which just doesn't seem to hold up to my weight and the conditions. Either I try it a few more sessions or I buy the Select Rainbow G-10 Superfoil pointer now. Given the comparative tail widths of the two boards, the 50cm fits the width at the 1 ft from tail mark on the Shark. The two boards are different fin boxes, so I'll never be able to use it. Now, I did buy a new board once that had a select fin that came with it. Don't they usually get into the water as stock fins?

Brucie, you posted this same drivel on other forums. Why do that? In fact, why post your BS at all?
