Guys no history with windsurfing , what Im after is info for a standard length of a the windsurfer mast .
Was thinking to try and pickup one to use as a spinnaker pole , would need full length of about 3M

They are typically in 2 pieces, with the total length between 3.7 and 5.2m

Thanks buddy , so Im not likely to get a full length piece of 3m

why not just cut the mast (or 2 piece) to 3 meters ??

If it is for a double ended pole, I suggest you search on the Buy & Sell for top sections for sale. See if you can get two top sections the same or at least having matching inside diameters at their base, then get a ferrule made that will sleeve inside both. Epoxy them together and you have a nice double tapered pole.

Yeah thanks guys and this is what Im trying to do , wanting light two ended spinnaker pole , have a four metre for light winds in aluminium
but wanting something lighter and something that would cause less damage to top deck which happens when your swinging around trying to
get connections to ropes and mast attachments , heavy wind pole needs to be around the three metre mark.

The two top ends joined seem like a good idea , just worry about the strength , which will be used on a 31 foot yacht.

For a 31 ft yacht you may be better off sleeving together two bottom sections rather than two top sections. And use a spectra bridle to the ends of the pole to attach the topping lift to, rather than attaching the topping lift in the centre of the pole. That way it takes only compression loads rather than bending loads.

Sorry guys I forgot to say even though I have been calling it a spinnaker pole it will just be used for the Jib/genoa downwind.

Yeah thanks buddy , Im watching ebay and Gumtree to see if anything shows up local , don't tend to see many windsurfers here these days.
