My wife (a neuroscientist) has just moved a rung or two further up the ladder, so we are moving from Sydney to Canberra.
We'd like to try to get longboard social racing kicking off again, if there is any interest. I know some ex-longboarders are still around and on Seabreeze. Is there any chance of getting anything kicking along?
We may also do some shortboarding but that's more a coast/occasional thing, of course.
good one Chris, now i won't be the only one out on those 10kt evenings, got a D2 that doesn't leak? have you discovered ACTVCC?, lakes' too cold in winter.
Not one for the longboards sorry, but come down to Yarralumla Bay when its windy and say Hi. A few of our regulars seemed to have moved to the coast in the last year or 2 but there are still a few windsurfers around (or maybe they are all just hiding until we get some decent Easterlies).

With a southerly forecast to move up the coast you could get a cracker this evening. Hard to beat a good Canberra easterly. Almost tempted to do the trip in reverse.
Doug, I have three D2s; the old Ten Cate (no leaks but not a lot of speed), a custom that may leak, and the Lechner. Two of the three are available.... :-)
We may also have a good IMCO hull for sale if anyone is interested; it's one of the blue German ones in good condition apart from a broken mast track pedal.
We could quite possibly get our hands on a trailerload of One Designs including 4.5 metre sails, if anyone was interested in helping to get something going on the teaching/racing/cruising front.
The legendary Stu and Bev Long are down on the South Coast and have a little Wally group at Narooma, so adding them to Deb, local Wally sailor Mark and I and we have a nucleus of an occasional fleet.
I'm assuming that ANUSC is the best contact, as they'd have permits etc and we could possibly work out some sort of deal with them. CYC is happy to race anything, but too expensive for most people (although we will be joining anyway for Laser and Tasar racing plus a Flying 15 again when I get older).
Jethrow, the IC still needs a new plank and a lot of other work, but now we'll have a backyard and garage or carport it may actually get some lovin'. Actually with Mal not too far away, we could arrange a bit of racing.
