i find to get wello you just look at inner beacon and banna bank. and sort of average between the 2. wello is kind of half way between them and this process seems to work for me

i was helped by some of the forumites. the webspace was provided and paid for by one of the guys who is also in the WindWanderers. plus i listened to what the locals had to say as well before writing the review.

i also make sure i sail each spot before listing anything. most of the spots i like to sail regularly anyways. they all offer something different.

some of the wello regulars (me included) have spent many a day basking in the sun while the manly boats blast back and forth and the smoke stacks on the horizon blow horizontal. so in a North to Nor-Easterly manly can get more consistent wind. no one seems to know why?

what type of sailing do you like to do. there are always posts on seabreeze from the brisbane and gold coast guys to let everyone where they are going.

Thanks for the tips Gestalt and others,

My sailing thus far consists of going flat out on a small wave board in strong winds on an open ocean
I am a self taught windsurfer, and apart from one forgetable trip to Fiji, have solely bumped and jumped around the waters in Yeppoon, Central Coast of Queensland.

I can clew first water start, jump and plane away, and stay dry on the occasional jibe, and that's about it.

The biggest sail in my kit is a 5.8, smallest 4.2. My board is an 82L F2 wave. I think I need some bigger gear to get more time on the water living in this part of Queensland. I have never ridden on flat water, yes I even learned to uphaul in the waves, now that's a very steep learning curve

If any of the Brissie locals have some bigger gear taking up space in your sheds just approach me at the beach. I drive the old white Hiace camper van, with the very distinct and very un-aerodynamic spoiler on the roof

Please come up and say hello to this new guy to the area, any advise about local conditions and locations would be greatly appreciated.
