We are just finishing the construction of a 10 room resort on Bulabog Beach (sorry about the name but it has no reflection on the beach itself!!) on the island of Boracay in the Philippines.
Reef retreat Resort will open on the 1st November 2007 and we are currently taking bookings for the season so if you fancy a holiday in the tropics, email us on [email protected]. Our website will be up and running soon but in the meantime i can send you photos or details via email.
We have a windy season from November to April, crystal clear waters with average temperature 27 deg and a flat water lagoon protected by a reef or waves outside the reef. Its ideal to learn to windsurf or kitesurf or a great place to just get on the water and board!! Its been the location for the Asian Windsurfing tour for 18 years and kitesurfing for the last 3 years.
For those of you with non boarding partners, only 10mins walk is the famous white sand beach which stretches for 4 km, perfect for scuba diving, sunbathing or watching the sun set with a cocktail or 2!!.
Look forward to meeting you.:

hi matt of reefretreat, how much would you be charging for a room say during the funboard cup from a sun. up to the next sat.(package deal/wid b-fast) for 3guys? and will you be catering to both windsurfing and kitesurfing..i can imagine you'd be infront of ocean-republic?..anyways for lanky, the gear rentals for windsurfing are the mistral center, greenyard(np/jp,cab..etc.)and adventure windsurfing(np/jp)..reefbreak is fun to jump on a bit lowtide and a bit mushy but really fun to play in...regards

Hi JP 747,

I havnt got the confirmed dates of the cup next year but its normally end jan - beginning feb so provided its not over chinese new year our rates are US$85 per room per night including breakfast. We have twin rooms or double rooms so the 3 would need 2 rooms. When you say, package do you want rental of windsurfing equipment?? we do packages with ocean republic(kite) or because we are joined with the funboard centre(formally mistral)directly behind it, we can do windsurfing packages.
send me your email address and we can sort something out for you.
look forward to racing with you

Hi Lanky,

We are joined with the Funboard centre so we have rental equipment, we use North sails and F2 boards. We have some 2008 kit and some 2007/2006.
The reef break is good but does get shallow at low tides but can be fun.
Send us your email if you want some photos emailed or some more info on the resort or rental centre
hope to see you here on the water

hi matt, what i meant by package was more a "discount" since it'd be 7nights if there would be..we've been staying always at laguna de boracay and do bring our own gear..ldb has a kitchenette and we can save a lot on just even water..i would guess the organizers would put it 2nd wk. of jan. just like last at least that's what i heard..anyways if ever will check you out if we're there...cheers

I have been to Boracay a couple of times and it is great for diving and windsurfing plus a host of other water and land based activities.
I think the price of $85 US per night is very expensive! I would suggest visiting your local travel agent who will be able to find you very good accomodationa packages at excellent prices.

Boardboy

Perhaps you havnt been here in the last few years cause prices have gone up!!! Yes you can get cheaper accomodation but not to the standard we are offering. We feel you get a very good deal for the money.
