If any of the regular Kyeemagh crew read this, could you please let Bill know that I have his board. He left it behind today and I brought it home. I've left a note with my mobile number there, or else he can PM me here. I'll be home tomorrow for him to come around and pick it up, but I won't be able to make it down to the bay.

P.S. The wind came in at 4:30pm, so you all you guys that left missed out.

Geez, my wife had a go at me for leaving my thongs behind. Walked down the painful path and back on the painless path, so it's easy to forget foot ware. How on earth do you leave behind your board unless you don't like it and want to leave it there?

Hey, at least someone remembers me. Life's been way too busy, and I've been sailing way too little. Took 5 weeks annual leave at christmas to get back into it, but then Summer got cancelled in Sydney and all I did was watch the rain out the window the entire time.

Oh well, looks like I'm gonna to have to toughen up and get out in the winter Southerlies again if I want any sailing this year.

Did you get that RC plane going?

What were you sailing yesterday Paul? Blue sail?

I was up the northern carpark. You had to be on the water when Huey decided to blow at more than 10 kts for 10 mins or so.

Agree about our lack of summer & wind. April is gonna be wet apparently...

.... so I booked a week in Noumea right on Anse Vata beach.

just near the windsurf hire place.

Won't tell you about my summer then.....
Nar, gave up on the plane as it is an old POS, gone back to 1/8 buggy as secondary / no wind hobby. We race at a casual club so just having fun

So, Wineman, when exactly are you coming over, what hotel did you book ?

I'll tell the rental guys you're coming so you get a good rate.

(I'll need something more than "wineman"... that's everyone's second name here !!)

where did my avatar go ? I can't see it anymore !!

Sean
sent you a PM. (11-18 April)

When are you and some of those froggies there going to get a team together for the GPS Team Challenge?

There are now 15 countries involved and not even 1 french team
gpsteamchallenge.com.au/index.php?country=0

(I know they only like to enter if they are gonna win) [}:)]

Well most of us don't have gps (too heavy, slows us down...)

And yes, if we can't win we're not entering !!

Mind you, I'm fast and my good mate Gauzere once was 2nd at the world speed championship... could come up with something.......

I'll take a look at that link and see if our flatwater secret spot could help us out...

Yep, I had the blue Loft. Yeah, it was probably me you saw because there were only two of us left at the main beach when it finally blew. I see the northern beach has become very popular. I guess it's because of the parking?? I don't like the dead spot there in close, although it is silky smooth for nice carving gybe practice.

Is this location family friendly? I might have to something like that.

Yeah, pretty much so. Lots to do.
Quite a few self contained apartments and multi-room hotel accom all with kitchen or kitchenettes.
from about $1200 for 7 night incl airfares. Not sure about family deals.
Check expedia.com, they have some great deals.

Yes you should, less than 3 hours flying time, it's crying out to be visited, could be an opportunity sitting there.
I still need to book some accommodation, if you know of any places close to the windsurfing rental place you mentioned above could you let me know?
Merci beacoup

Hi Dezza,

Any hotel on Anse Vata beach will be walking distance from the rentals.
The furthest (and most expensive) is The Méridien second furthest is Royal Tera. Those two hotel are on the kite side of the beach.

Best western and surf hotel are the closest.
Best western is more recent, surf hotel is correct (but only hotel rooms) and very well placed (shopping centre nearby, fast food/and great restaurants, aquarium/casino/glass bottom boat)

The deal Wineman is mentionning is unreal... here we pay 800$ just for the return airfare to brisbane...

Another tip I should mention is how cheap the gear is here.
If you guys are considering a new sail or board or fin etc...it's the place to buy !!!
Pm me and I'll get you mate rates.
(we don't do KA...)

sorry for hijacking the thread.....

Dezz, don't even bother emailing him, he never logs on nor checks his emails..... he's a lost cause regarding technology....
Drift came over couple of months ago and tried to contact him too.... to no avail...

I'll tell him you're coming and you can try a couple of boards : he's a top bloke, he'll even let you try his own gear

He mostly rents FSW, but also a couple of Firerace (mean machines ! I got one)

best western : very good deal, plenty of nice restaurants around the area.

yes Laurent sold a few, they are beauties !!!!!
The finish on the ltd is awesome !!

A mate has one, the board planes really early, handles the chop like a fsw and gybes easily !!
Doesn't blast on the water like the firerace or xfire but is still fast.

I think they retail around 1300$, but would have to check.
I paid my 2010 112L firerace 1200$
