Awesome - but make sure they shoot lots of wave action !!!!! Don't let them take the easy way out and just shoot the race which looks boring to non windsurfers
(disclaimer; before any racers get upset I did not say it is boring or easy, just that people who don't understand the sport think it all looks much of a muchness afetr 2mins. )
Au contraire!
I'm not saying don't shoot the waves but...
taken in context I think the race is actually far more exciting to the non-windsurfer. Imagine the build up; this is Pete Volwater form the Netherlands who has won the last two and he's whatever in the world, and then there's Robby Swift from the UK, and he's that blah blah...and then there is Australia's brightest hope Mr Slowboat who was third in 2008 and then second in 2009 and....can he win it this year?...let's take a look at the action....
The start of the race is potentially the most spectacular sight in windsurfing, in the world!
The concept is so simple - "Swiss speed demon Patrik Diethelm has got a lead at the first mark but Lockwood is bearing down on him - can he hold him out...oh and someone's crashed!" etc etc.
Anyway, you see my point; racing of any kind is always a winner with spectators (think motor racing, cycling, running...anything) and windsurfing is no different, except that it is an incredibly spectacular and beautiful sport to go with it. A well-produced movie of the 30 minute race would make fantastic viewing from start to finish.
