The Hamilton Island thing has been getting a lot of hype, even over here...but everyone knows the top pro windsurfers have the best job in the world! Travelling to windy places year round, testing all the new toys, sailing sailing sailing!

Imagine being stuck on Hamilton for 6 months, with every tourist you meet asking the same question "oh, so you're the feller who won the contest? What's it like, then?"

...wouldn't mind the money, though!

Sorry to go off topic but, Willy, how are you finding the new Panther? Much difference over the 08 sails? Noticed recently the very new 09 Freerides3's and Infinities on the Ezzy site.

Too early to say. This was the first time using it, and I had to use max outhaul and downhaul for the gusts, so really a 6.0-6.5 would've been better. I've just updated from a 6.9 Ezzy Wave, and there is definitely a difference but I can't explain yet...maybe after today...

TODAY will be the day I figure out gybing once and for all!!! YES IT WILL!!!! YES IT WILL!!!! I'm so close! Just a matter of getting the weight forward on entry and I think it's all sorted!

I'm looking seriously at the 6.9 panther as well... I can't believe it's so light! That david is one smart fella. Does it feel light? I guess if you're overcooked it would be hard to tell.

Good luck with the corners Willy.

Yeah, good luck on the gybes Willy. At a similar stage now actually.... making 75%. Only goes pear shaped when I loose too much speed, due to not leaning far enough forward.

Interested to hear any feedback on the new sail.

OOh an Ezzy, how ecumenical of you 2xW. You are aware that Dave Ezzy is a committed Christian aren't you
<edit> I stand corrected. I have a very polite pm purporting to be from DE saying this is not so. Anyway its none of my business either way so I'll shut up.

I lust after some Wave Panthers, but isn't 6.9 a tad huge for a wave sail. Are you using it for sail tricks or something?

Reminds me, must put a big "666" sticker on the sail to offset the blessings Mr Ezzy may have given it...

Regarding the size, the boom is about 10cm shorter than the 6.9 Ezzy wave (from memory); it feels like a very compact little number indeed. And it's got the strongest construction (new materials) I've yet seen on an Ezzy.

Just posted a review in the gear section.

Sorry about the lack of technical knowledge; I pride myself on getting by with as little knowledge as possible...

i think we saw that in the ''nerds'' thread.

hey, you gonna get a new angulo board now to go with that new sail ?
