Teaching an old dog new tricks does work but with this old dog it takes a long time to get there

Had a great day out on the water yesterday in light winds with 7.5 and 105 ltr so decided to practise the elusive carve gybe instead of the Invy Step Gybe.

Reading many a forum post, magazine and attending Cribby clinics the big thing etched in my mind is BZN. Wow what a difference this makes. Tightens the carve - just amazing "click" for me as had been struggling to get the board to do the complete turn.

Now just to sort out the foot dance and hand movement

Practice the foot dance and hand movement on land so it becomes automatic on the water. Saves a lot of time in the cold wet stuff.

It's a term from the snowfields, Austrian ski instructors pronounce it that way. Works for all sports, both in doing the manoeuvre and reducing the risk of traumatic knee injury.
