Do you leave all your wet gear to stink up the car while you head for the amber after a great sesh? Or do you meticulously clean every piece with fresh water and then wipe it down with a chamois? Do you get straight in the shower or do you like to sit around in your budgie smugglers?

What's your post-sail routine?

Must admit, I was quite shagged after last nights session and getting home after dark so mine stayed in the car.

The car was a wee bit musty this morning and a wee bit messy from packing up in the dark

You gotta have a beer straight after, can't de-rig straight away.
Then pile it in the car, go home and wash the wetty and rashie.
Game over

Trailers are great - no wet gear in the car, no unpacking when get home, and have all gear covered for any day. Bit of a pain with parking etc - but that's life.

Yeh trailers/utes are the go, but beer before de-rigging helps
Got rid of the smugglers years ago, after I saw another old b*stard wearing some, and put 2 & 2 together

3 birds with one stone. When I get home, I usually get straight into the shower with the wettie and a beer. Not much beats drinking cold beer in a hot shower. Then wash the rig when/if I could be bothered.

I'm one for hitting the shower up straight away, then I'll have some dinner, sit down and watch some TV or something and torture myself with having to go back out into the dark/cold and wash out my wettie and harness.

I used to rinse and dry off my sail after every sesh but these days I go so often so stuff that!

I give em a hose if they've been sitting in the shed for a while with no use, let em dry and then tuck them back in again.

However, I do like to hit the universal joint with some fresh water to keep it.... fresh

I have a bad habit of leaving everything in my car overnight if I'm going again the next day. Drive it to work and leave it out in the sun all day.

After a few weeks of daily sailing my wife refuses to ride in my car

Usually whirl my wettie around me head in the carpark so all the urine droplets fly off . No need to wash or shower.

Down here by the time a sail is dirty it is buggered anyway

Rush home, quick rinse of wettie and aluminium stuff, grab clothes and nappies off the clothesline (except the wet ones I threw my wettie over), go inside, grab coldie from fridge, fold up washing having slurp of beer every garment, put washing away (sort of),cook dinner having another beer, open bottle of red, soak up compliments on what a good husband I am (and equate them to windsurfing credits), eat dinner, watch windsurfing dvd on computer while wife watches "west wing", kick the cat out, finish bottle of red, and rest is no-one's business

Wash off down there if I can, get home, take gear out and stow it, hang the wet bits up, wash off if I didn't down there, or couldn't.
Hit shower, hit scotch and dry sitting on floor with feet tucked in close to butt cheeks so my back straightens up and I don't get crook back, watch TV, any crap just to veg out, channel hop and drive my misses nuts til she kicks me to other room and other TV.
Only cook nights I don't go windsurfing, and that's no sh1t, but only two of us so its a piece of piss
Check out web to see who's blathering what add comment,(like now) mostly make out I know what I am doing

But Windy Miller, do you do the dash for the fridge in the nude? What does your wife say about this behaviour?

Yesterday i tried to roll my sail on the seaweed after the session but of course still managed to cover it in sand cause of the stronger wind... I did something I never did before... i plunged the rolled sail in the sea to get rid of the sand!!!
Then chucked everything at the back of the ute, stopped at a bottlo and drunk while driving, had another beer with the two mates I dropped off, went home early enough not to get my ass kicked by the girlfriend for being out all day, got her to help me unpack, rinsed everything, cooked some FOOD and then have a shower!! Thought it was the way it should always be

Ah, I don't actually wear my wettie in the shower- it's just the first and usually the only thing I take out of the car when I get home until my blood alcohol is up to an acceptable level.

We shouldn't be proud of being water wallies, Windy (snigger, snigger)
