I've decided I want some windsurfing gear and will need to let the SUP go to fund this venture. So, if anyone wants to swap a beginner kit of windsurfing gear for a 9'6" Naish Mana SUP let me know what you've got.

I'm a surfer and ex-kiter [}:)]. I can do the windsurfing basics (can get up and going and control where I go), but can't water start and want something I can (easily) uphaul on. Would prefer something that won't get boring too quick, but at the same time something I could put around in the river with the kids on and get the missus to have a crack at (if such a thing exists?).

Been looking at a Starboard Go 170L (2nd hand), but probably a bit pricey for me and not sure if it matches what I'm after.

Would mainly be going o the river at this stage, but keen to get to the beach eventually.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Why not get a SUP you can windsurf on? Something like the JP Widebody ones. Of course if you want to go fast then it will be limiting. I don't think you can get a board that will be easy for the family to use and will also be exciting for you.

If you aren't too sensitive about your style, just put a mast track on the Mana, and buy a smaller board when you feel more confident

That's a big requirement. The 170 size will do the job for the wife, kids and the river. .. but I bet you that once you get a taste for planing, you'll want to progress to the 90-110 size and sail the ocean or the lakes. Given your kiting/surfing background, you'll take up windsurfing quickly.

The beginner boards are expensive and rare. Not a lot of demand for them. You can scan the Buy/Sell section for months and not see anything (I did this once). I'll PM you some places that might have some 2nd hand beginner gear.
