I read in a windsurfing mag this is used by pro windsurfers on their masts to improve sail rotations. Anyone tried it? Would like to know if it works?

I use it on the pulleys on my kites, helps prevent sand blocking them. Haven't used it on my masts but I use rdm's so rotation isn't a problem

I think they use it to help camber rotation.

My race sails rotate like free ride sails, never had any issues, infact don't even think about sail rotation

ps if you do use it make sure you dont get any on the boom area on the mast

Googled it yet? The Yanks love the stuff, they use gallons of it. Sure to be reviews out there on the interwebs

Used it loads on skiffs in the past, bloody great stuff. Whether its needed for wsurfers I don't know but could be worth a try. I think the windsurf place in WA sent round an email saying they had stock of it.

my race sails do rotate fine
in order to help the cams along, i put McLube on the inside of the cams C <- ONLY
as someone said - NO good on boom area !!!!
also found not good to put on mast directly since not all my cambered sails have the large luff and pop cams on later - some need to pop on first while sliding mast in and these may slide off if McLube was on the mast directly

Bruce Peterson of Sailworks swears by the stuff

it is a very good water resistant lubricant - too good ?? use with caution !!

i've used it on my downhaul line, it makes a noticeable difference for down hauling my formula sails. Gripping the rope is a little more tricky..

We used to pour a couple of gallons into the ballast tanks on racing yachts while on the hard stand and pump it from side to side to lube the ball valves then empty it back into a holding drum to use it next time. Good stuff.
