I suggest they put a white line on the sea bed about 1km offshore and make it illegal for sharks to cross it!
I am not trivialising the plight of the two poor guys who got bitten but in the time frame of the two shark incidents I would guess a significant number of people died and even more would have had horrific, yet unreported, injuries from traffic crashes!!
We think nothing of driving to our favourite spot, separated from any number of turkeys driving drunk, drugged, distracted, fatigued, depressed and we are only separated from them by a white line.
I too get a bit jumpy when I'm alone out on the water with my little legs flapping frantically trying to get the sail up out of the water but I'd rather take my chances with the sharks than my fellow motorists!!!
I heard this one trillion times. Doesn't stand for me.
How many professional abalone divers? How many got killed by shark?
I suspect a much higher percentile...
As far as I'm concern, 1 shark life - 200 herring lifes. I prefer to see a humble herring.
My heart goes to the Amazon frogs.
