Hi Seabreezers, Has anyone got any photo's,video's or fond memories that they could share in regards to this race?

Sailed in every hervey bay marathon, great race used to leave from the beach at torquay over to Moon Point on fraser, hop off your board run round a flag on the beach and sail back to torquay. Those where the days when there was around five marathons in qld every year, Hervey Bay, Caloundra, Old woman Islands and bay islands marathon. Perfect for race boards or anything with a centreboard.

Thanks bc I appreciate your reply. I started windsurfing in Hervey Bay in 87 and I never saw the marathon, only ever heard about it a few years later. Any idea what year it wrapped up, or for how many years it ran?
I would sell my soul for pictures or video if anyone out there has any.

Revive the race, compete and get current photos would be better.
I'd fly over and give it a go.
