I think the sportswagon is based on the short wheel base platform, so it makes you wonder if there is less payload length available.

Is it still a concept car or the production model? I expect they may lose a few sales to the falcon wagon if they drop the payload area significantly.

Yes ,Short wheelbase , but VE SWB is only 20mm shorter inwheelbase than the current Wagon . Around 200 mm less bed length but the current Wagon is massive . it,s really similar size to a VS .Plenty big enough to fit boards or sleep in.
Showcar really close to the production model.

I have a VT wagon and Peto's right, you can fit a s***load of gear in them. Id love one of the new VE wagons, what a hot looking car.

I have a VS wagon as well, and when I compared it to my brothers VT wagon, I thought they have the same payload length, despite the extra exterior size of the VT. Have I got that right? Anyone got both and a tape measure?

200mm shorter in the payload length is a fair bit. None of my boards fit behind the seat anyway, so it doesn't matter. My boards go in the (t)rusty mazda van anyway.
