Anybody rigged a Loft O2 freeride sail on a NP SDM X6 mast?
When I set this up yesterday, the 6.6m on a 430, it just didn't look right,? Sail is new. Mast is near new.

I rig my 2009 02s on a NP X6 460 mast, I think its a 2008 model.

Its okay but I think the sails could benefit from being rigged on a Loft mast.

It will be interesting to see what Monty says.

Ben Van Der Steen has been using X9 masts on his Racing Blades to good effect, can you post a pic of the rigged sail?

The O2s are pretty mast tolerant ( at least they were in '08), my 6.6 rigged well on a 430 x3 for strong winds but rigged better on a 460 most of the time as I'm 95kg.

I have a 07 6.6 O2 which uses a 460. I tried the X6 on it and it was beautiful but a pain to slip it up the mast sleeve. I now use a loft RDM mast which makes rigging a lot easier.

How does your 02 set and rig with the Loft mast compared to the X6? Is there a significant improvement with the Loft mast or not?

I usally check the Unifibre mast chart for mast compatibility (link below). Hope this helps.

Big Al,
Thanks for that link.

OT - It's amazing how the majority of mast / sail manufacturers never release (or make it easily known) the mast bend characteristics, but rather dictate a mandate of "only our masts will work with our sails". I really get my back up about how condescending the windsurfing industry is towards their buying public.

agree all brands should use one mast standard

The Loft blade I bought just recently, I rigged on a NP X7 100% carbon mast. Although I have not been sailing it yet. It looks OK. Expectations are high, can not wait for the first session on the water.

Hi Moby, not sure if I could notice much difference although I'm not great at tunning and I don't get out much so its a bit hard to say. Have no regrets with the loft mast though.
