I missed it the first time around because I sorted by price, and stopped at the $5,000 wetsuits...

I recon thats a really good effort at raising money. Not a bad package of gear you end up with either.

Is the guy actually legally obligated to give the money to charity, though? He might change his mind after receiving payment...

He started out last monday selling his wetsuit with a funny description. It became very popular by wednesday so as it says in the advert he chose to 'share the love'. Since then it has become viral and a bit silly with huge bids and lots of companies jumping on the bandwagon.

Good luck to him, even if he only takes 5% he has made far more than he would have done for a second hand wetsuit. It is too big now for him to just take the money and run, too many people following it.
