I have the above combination and had 4 sessions supfoiling on it.
I already hurt my ribs
The windy season has started here so I want to try windsurfing with it.

It will be strappless , the JP Foil board has has footstrap inserts but they are on centerline of the board.
Good thing for me, I hurt my foot a month ago windsurfing.
I will only go in light winds with a 5.3 Simmer blacktip, when it is really windy I will go windsurfing.
The mastfoot goes in the second hole from the front, t he first is the vent hole.
So there is not much standing space...
Should put the foil as much to the back as possible for my first try?
I will be wearing a full wetsuit, booties and an impact vest and go to a lake for my first try...
And I will uphaul my sail, the board is 115 liter.
Tips or thoughts anyone?

Nice! I have a similar board with similar foil from F-One, only it is 7'11" I believe, so a little longer. for windfoiling I would try the foil a little further back, but not all the way back in the track! maybe 3-4cm further back than you would in surffoiling ;). My guideline for initial setup with a new prototype foil is the back of the mast aligned with the back insert of the footstrap. because you are riding strapless I think it would be less critical, but I'd say have the front of the foilmast about 90cm from the from the mastbase and try from there! (The track in my customboard is situated 80-105cm from the front tuttlescrew, and my footstraps are compared with the foilmast a little more back than described above, but that is personal preference from me, and very radical for most, I mostly use the back 15cm of the track.)

I windfoil a SUP foilboard too. Mine is 7'1 and I use the same Neil Pryde Large wing.

Put the mast in the back of the tracks to make it beginner friendly, not just for riding, but for uphualing too.

These are nothing like foiling a regular windsurfer, because the tracks are so extremely far forward for SUP use, they can be tricking windfoiling.

They are very responsive with the tracks so far forward. It also makes the board trickier to uphaul. Wanting to spin as the sail is pulled out the water, if the foil is forward in the tracks.

So, just put it in the back, then bump it forward 1" at a time, if you think it's too tame.

The fun part about a board like this, is being able to pump (like you do when SUP foiling) it airborne. Also pump it on a wave. You can ride slow and surf it.

Oh, no straps. You need to be able to move your feet around and surf it.

Thanks for the tips.
Yeah we don't want to race, just play around!

It is a long time ago that I uphauled a sail , didn't realize that the position of the foil could make it more difficult to uphaul.

How much wind would I (85kg/180lbs) and my daughter (60kg/133lbs) need with a 4,7 or 5,3 wave sail?

After some practise about 10 knots for you for the 4.7 i think, but I haven't tried your foil.

i never had trouble uphauling because of the foils position btw, i think the trouble is more due to technique issues, having the front foot too far forward when uphauling.

Hi camarillo, I am looking for a sup foil board for some WWF wave windfoiling. How did you get on with the JP foil 7'0?

Im considering this board as it gets great sup foil reviews so in theory should also windfoil well.

How did you find this board for windfoiling? Or did you move onto something else?

Thanks

I'm finding the JP foil 7' a great choice for sup foiling , windsurf foiling and wing foiling. For windsurf foiling I initially had the foil a bit too far forward making it ultra sensitive and twitchy but with the foil a bit more back now feels very balanced and stable. Pumping onto a foil is also even easier. Using mainly 5,3 and 6m sails.

Hello folks, what type of foils are you guys using with the JP Foil 7'0?

Sup foils with shorter masts and fuses or wind foils with longer masts and fuses?

I'd like the NP glide with large front wing and I can get it with the longer 80 Mast and 81 fuse or shorter 70 Mast and 71 fuse sup version.

Many thanks

At the moment I am mainly using the Starboard Ocean 2000 and Starboard 1700 wings with the 65cm mast and surf fuselage. I want to get some sessions on the NP L foil as visually it is quite different from the Starboards wings which have a much thinner profile (ie thinner leading edge).

Is NP now offering the Glide Wind with the 80cm mast as a package or is this something your local dealer is putting together?

The 2020 glide wind seems to come with an 80 Mast and the glide surf with a 70 Mast.

That is good news. I've been on a 95cm slingshot mast and going down to 70cm would be tough in our chop.
I've been waiting to see what is in store for 2020 before I make a brand switch.

We are switching to Axis foils and my wife, a good wavesailor wants to give windfoiling a try on our JP 7'0 .
I want to make it as easy and painless as possible for her...

Should we get her on the biggest front foil, the biggest rear foil, the longest fuse and a short mast?

We were tired of waiting for the NP Glide XL . We mostly sup surf our foils and love the Axis S1020 S1000 and s900.
Being able to chose mast and fuse length is also a big plus.

Should I get a 100 cm (40') Fuselage for learning to windfoil?

I posted this video somewhere else on this forum but since the topic here is the JP sup I'll post it again. The video shows both the JP 6' 8"/96 litre sup (not the 7.0') with the NP Glide foil:

It looks like NP has the extralarge Glide on their website. Does anyone know the surface area of this 100 cm wing? Did anyone try for windsurf foiling the XL glide? It looks like 85 cm NP mast could be adapted for this wing.

Apparently next years Glide Wind will come with the longer mast. That's worth waiting for me.

It came to my attention confirming your calculation. What is the difference of NP XL wing foil projection area of (1963.7 cm2) vs top area (2083.4 cm2). How is this compare to i84 Hoverglide (surface area 2066 cm2)? If one use top area as a reference, this wing is slightly bigger!

Lets just say the difference is negligable. I have stabs which vary more than that in surface area.
