Hi guys looking at going from a CI dagger 5'10 x 19 x 2 1/4 VOLUME: 28.1 to a CI DFR 5'11 x 18 7/8 x 2 5/16 VOLUME: 27.0 L is this a bad move being the dagger was a great board, but it has seen its day and im looking at something new. i had no problems at all paddling the dagger, im just worried about the volume being less in the DFR

Do you surf more like Kelly or Dane?

I just got one of those little red knub fins for my quad, am expecting to carve the sh1t out of scabs on the next swell

Tails are the same they are squash, and the rails on the dfr are thinner but not a lot.

I liter is a bit to take out depends on your ability at the end of the day, do you think you will miss that bit of volume?

I don't even think you would hardly notice 1.1 of a litre difference paddling wise
2 litres maybe
The main difference would be the profile/outline of each board and the way it rides

Bit of an old thread but how much volume can you lose before feeling a significant difference? What about 4-5L?

Funny you say that prawnhead, I was snowboarding up at Mt Bulla and hadnt bought any beer at that stage, went down to the tavern and met up with my mates and bought a round. I always drink middies so I went to the bar and asked for four middies of what ever. The chick behind the bar looked at me like I was an alien and said whats a middie?!? I explained I was from Perth, oh she said you want pots ok then

Yep Hotham is the bomb, but harder ($$$) to get to for a weekend from WA..

They used to let us use our Frequent Flyers to fly up there. We could get Perth, Melb, Hotham and home again all on 28000 points once. Before they changed the multiple stops rule
