maybe seeing as longboarding has had a sook and now deemed itself outside the parameters of general surfing, maybe the general in terms of surfing needs to be redefined into something more specific.

"Hot Dogging".............now there's a good OLD Longboard term..........come to think of it, we only had "longboards" back then...............

lol. I too fail to see the distinction between "longboarding" and "general". Especially in today's wide array of board shapes that span the range from really short to really long, eg: funboards, hybrids, eggs, really long shortboards like those stupid McCoys, etc.

Maybe we need a forum for each individual "move".

So the forum structure would look like:

Surfing
- Re entries
- Cutbacks
- Aerials
- Barrels

Longboarding
- Going straight with your hands behind your back
- Going straight with you hands above your head
- Going straight while standing really really far forwards on your board
- Going straight switchfoot
- etc

I'm guessing theDoctor is on the money that "general" now becomes "short boarding", but then there's longboards, mini-mals & shortboarding.
