g'day all,
with this string of +40 degree days in perth and spending most of the time in the water, I'm fried to a tomato. I diligently lathered the old sunscreen on but still ended up cooked.....therefore I was hoping to hear from the brainstrust as to best sunscreen to keep you protected whilst spending solid sessions in the water.

Ready, set

go

cheers
hopey

I use the banana boat 50+ stuff all over, it's not greasy and doesn't run into my eyes.

On my face I use a zinc from a company in bali called surf yogis. It's made from beeswax and cocoa and offers great long lasting protection, plus it doesn't rub off.

Invisible Zinc 4hr water resistant, it's white but rubs in clear. I had a three hour session this week in 40 deg+ and not a hint of sunburn/redness afterwards.

I've been using this stuff for years and it lasts ages and is heaps cheaper than some of the big brands.

Most sunscreens need to be applied at least 10-20min before you get in the water or it will just wash off.
i use combo of Banana Boat 50 and some old zinc cream I found in my car, it sticks like cat**** and smells similar but it works...5hrs in the wTer last Sunday ...no burn

Banana Boat 50+ all over - then zinc over face, forehead, ears and back of neck... 3+ hrs last Sunday no problem.

If I get skin cancer it will almost certainly be from my teen years... never wore a hat or sunscreen. In fact my hair changed colour when I started wearing a hat and bike helmet - it went from sun-bleached blonde to my darker natural colour brown

Same as Zuke. Also prefer physical barriers if possible (hat, rashie) rather than layering on cream everywhere.

Yep been getting dodgy skin sots cut & frozen off every year for over ten years now. I wear a surf hat all year round, keeps your noggin a little warmer in winter too
