Try to get yourself to the Mentawis off sumatra. You can get flights from Jakarta to Padang then a boat out to the Islands. A few mates and myself went a few years ago with the Surf Travel Company Im pretty sure they are still operating under new management ( P.K in now in jail for drug offences ). Waves range from 4 ft fun, to hollow fast tubes, to heaving monsters something for everyone.
Try to find a reputable company as the trip from Sumatra to the island is 8 hours accross a strait which can be quite rough they will do this during the night so you dont lose any surf time. But some of the local operators have some dodgy boats and I would not recommmend just turning up at the harbour to get a lift out ( plenty of people will be happy to take you for a cheap fee ) but its risky.
