i always wondered bout localism, why does it exixt? if a spot is pumpin and your not a local u dont get much of a chance but when the same spots come to your spots they think they own the place????? any ideas, words of wisdom?

Well Im usually pretty generous with sharing waves around and it seems to come back to me. I only give 2 chances per person for genuine drop ins then ya can expect to get faded big time! Surfing is about having fun and sharing great times with other surfers. I aint got any time for this local bulls*%t that goes on. If ur a great surfer and can inspire other surfers with a crazy hack or somthing then you will never have any problems with localls as long as ya respect the people that do surf the place everyday and remember that every1 has to put up with the "weekend warriors".

The word "kook" is one of the most hurtful words in surfing. To be called a "kook" means that you can't surf well, have a terrible style, talk trash, or even snake your fellow surfers. Maybe you do all these things at once.
