I have been surfing Noosa a fair bit the last couple of weeks

It is becoming common for one or 2 jet skis to ferry people from the end of ti tree to back out the take off

Yesterday avo the water was particularly crowded and this dick on a jet ski was runing back and forward taking all these little grommets back out the back

Its frickin national park for gods sake and I dont enjoy the noise , the smell , the wash that bumps up the waves and most of these little pricks that overcrowd the lineup and take more than share because they arent paddling
any ideas on how to get this stopped????

Its a shame not everbody applies the common sense rule. Jetskis are a pain in the arse. How slack are the groms. They dont make em like they use to.

well here goes.. your absolutely right jet skis do have a place but not in National Parks, not close to swimmers or Paddle in Surf Breaks. Dont want to get into i've been surfing here this long etc, but in this case will, over 20 years, and most of my friends that i surf with well over 30. We dont even go to T-Tree now because of this **** going on.
What to do to stop it.... thats legal..... not sure but if you come up with something I've got 20 something surfers who will help. Afraid Board riders club not the way to go as I know some of them do it themselves. LIke someone said they dont make Surfers like they use to. Sorry about going on but where and when will this all STOP

Although others have offered more enjoyable and interesting ideas of getting rid of those who shouldn't be out there (they can't/don't paddle through the shorebreak) here's my idea that might work (has legal/political grounds).

Check the MSB (Maritime Safety Board) legislation on boats (particularly PWC i.e: jetski) says they can't be ridden within 60m of people in the waterhttp://www.msq.qld.gov.au/Home/Safety/Personal_watercraft/

Same in NSW (and prob all AUS)

Are they doing that? Report them then. Extra laws suck, but so do smelly, noisy. lazy skiis!

Ah yeah, also tell the local environmental campaigning group, they prob won't be too stoked either and tell the local government players, but then again the legit tow-ins may/will be affected.

just had another session at noosa - ti tree -
and guess what not one but two jets skis

The sweep was horrendous and you had to paddle your guts out to stay in one place -

just as I was about to paddle for a well earned set the jet ski went past and put a **** ripple across the entir set -

The other jet almost towed a guy right into the boiling pot take off -

I thought Noosa couldnt get any more messed up but if this doesnt stop what will it be like when the are 10 or 15 skis towing and shuttling groups of surfers around the place

I think we should go to the paper - and contact the boating government guys
anyone know how to contact noosa news

Here ya go Chadster......http://www.thedaily.com.au/

Total discrace I say. Trail bikes are banned in National Parks and soo should jetski's.
Unfortunatley Im not in the area any more so Its a little hard for me to hassle the rangers office in the car park winkwink.
ALso contact the water police and lodge a formal complaint. Tell ur mates to do the same.
If all else fails, have a little of fun of ur own............ contact me for more Ideas

I'm liking Kearnsy's idea best, the air rifle sounds real good. Getting the Bureaucrats to do anything will take ages, around here.
Glad I gave it a miss today, sorry chadster your going thru this mate
