I've been at rotto skippering a boat all week for work, with plenty of opportunity to surf but there has been no swell. Swell finally picked up yesterday but had to bring the boat back to unload and wash down. At least the diving for work was nice clear water and no surge for a change.

Then went out again today on another boat and chikens had dropped to not bugger all swell again. It's just not fair.

Had my first surf for years yesterday. Well, if you call never been able to stand up a surf.

The page here describes some of the stances I was using:

You talkin' Trigg Point ? My reply was a joke. I'd never surf that crowded dump.
Keep your kids away. When it gets crowded...when is it not crowded ?
It gets dangerous.

checked out the site. My favourite was " the proposal " stance.
Next time I have a surf ( when the ...will that be ) I'll give that stance a shot.
Looks totally uncool and f......'n hilarious. like it.

Where did that swell come from?
I took my 6' twinnie and 11' SUP to the beach.
Guess which board I took out

I was lucky enough to find a wave on Saturday went to other side of the moon. three of us went and had all the waves to our self for an hour and a half we looked up at the top of the hill and over the top came an army of kids on a bus armed with body boards. Lucky for us most had L plates on and surfed the beach break and the ones that did come out said they were sorry to take our waves. Only worry of the day was the seals that kept swiming with us......

There is nothing more infuriating than when you are surfing a beach by yourself, and a Hi-Lux full of boogie boarders pulls up right where you are surfing and they all hop out on top of you.

Especially when there are like 5 other peaks on the beach with no-one on them.

Well I think it's in their genes, it's the same story in Europe. Though they drive a Fiat ;)

Cheers

It's a world-wide crisis! I hope you do what I do and hog every wave.

Me and a mate did that once when a couple of utes of boog-nuts came out on top of us. For the next hour, we continuously snaked them and didn't let a single wave get by without one of us on it. They were giving us evils by the end, but we were just waiting for one of them to complain so we could point out that the many other un-ridden peaks on the beach.

Drop in every time if they do that ****!My son learnt on a mat for surf awareness and that's where it stopped. Now he's got a 6ft Dave Mannion and he's only ten.I'll be instructing him on the rule of, find a peak for yourself.

I don't mind the crowds in Perth so much because it has to be crowded... there are way more people than waves. It makes me agro when it happens in Albany and the beach is totally empty.

If you can't see a problem with 5 people paddling out on top of you when you are the only other person on the beach and there are x number of other peaks (all empty), I'd suggest that you are one of the sheep that paddles out on top of people

And don't try and deny that there is no agro in Margs. Margs is practically Perth these days. There's a hell of a lot more agro at Margs than say, <secret pointbreak somewhere between Albany and Esperance> or waves north of Gnaraloo
