I have a byne 6.1HP tuf-lite in new cond $450 used only 3 times, so if you want your surfing to get worse buy this piece of junk.!!!
Or should in just put it in the rec bin
They say that it is the same as what the some of pros use on the wqs lol
Won’t win many heats on that.
There are many good shapers in Perth go see them you will get a lot more satisfaction.

1) Board hesitates when you want to take off. You need to do extra strokes down the face and even if you are quick to you feet you are left very late.
2) It is fast on the wave face and likes to stay in the pocket but it does not like going striat down the face you have to force it
3) It will go up vertical and hit the lip but even with small fins it has no release of the top.
4) Going along the face and you want to do a big hack there is no rail and stays very flat.

Sounds like what happens to me when I ride a board that is too small for me.

Is it of similar dimensions so your other boards you'd use in the same conditions?

spot1 how do you rate DA lewy as a shaper, does he ask many questions before shaping ie height weight ability and places you want to surf the board? Ive never had a custom stick made but a few mates have a few off the rack boards of his and like em.

yep, off the rack boards are great for "normal" size surfers but when you are 6'6 and 115kgs theres not a lot of choice on the rack and a custom shaped stick starts looking attractive

Stu: I agree completely.

If a big bloke wants a 6'4, it's probably a wide, small wave board he wants.

If a small bloke wants a 6'4, it's probably going to be a narrow pintail for bigger waves.

When you see only one 6'4 on the rack, you wonder who it is designed for and for what conditions.

Surfer Stu,

My physical dimensions are similair to yours. Murray Bourton at Base in QLD shaped me a lovely Quad fish that paddles easy and goes like a Rocket in the Perth Mush. You could do worse than give him a call if a custom is what you are after....
