A few winters ago I was out at Trigg and got a nice little 2' left. A booger was about 15m on the shoulder and decided to drop in. I caught up pretty quickly. He looked back at least 3 times and decided not to even attempt to pull off. So I jumped on him, like a lion on a gazelle. Poor little guy looked like he was going to cry. He paddled in next wave. Nothing personal against boogers, I would've done the same to anyone else.
Well, it originally came from the fishing analogy - to troll a lure in the hope of getting a bite. So people post deliberately inflammatory comments in the hope of generating an emotional response.
However, it's been corrupted to the 3 billy goat's gruff meaning. As evidenced when someone accuses someone of being a troll and posts an image of an under-the-bridge troll.
When you think about it, the latter makes no sense at all. What the hell does a grumpy, warty, ugly guy who hangs out under a bridge have to do with posting inflammatory comments?

You like speed bumps bucko ? well get one of these up ya
Boogers may be a blessing in disgise. Most boogers stop riding waves by the time they start to shave where as if they surfed who nows they might all still be surfing which would mean lots more old blokes out in the water. Proberbally on mals and SUPs. I'm not sure about the whole SUP thing. I saw a bloke out at the point a couple of weeks ago who just couldn't make it work. He ended up on his knees trying to paddle the beast. LOL.
