Hello.
My surfing skills are average ( started surfing late :(. )
Fit.
80 kg dry.
In addition to my 6'6 board was looking for a fish board for small fat waves.
Ended up with wirefire quadfish 6'0x21.1/4"x2.5/8".
Goes well.
I am sort of wondering should I've got same board but with a bit more voulme= it comes as 3" thick , would this bit of extra thickness make a NOTICABLE difference in catching waves.
One of the advise I've had is to be careful with extra volume in fish as it makes it hard to turn.
Please, any thoughs, advised whould be appreciated.
Ta.

Don't need volume in a fish. Planing area is the key.

6'0 x 21.1/4 sounds like HEAPS if you only weigh 80kg and are fit.

Combination of volume and area is what helps. On slow full sluggish waves, the volume and area really counts. It is not just about area.... Yes, on the right wave, the area is the key.... Volume is also very important when you are over 85kg or 90kg.

"Foam is your friend", thanks Rob.

PS - this is a recent photo, and someone has been spending a little bit of time in the Californian sun !! And making a full tilt effort to bring back 90's hair !!
