Margreat river i been around for a long time but there was no intention of me paddling out into them waves yesterday.
Some of you people have big balls.....
You know its big when there is people getting towed in at mainbreak......
100 respect for anyone who went out.
Thats wheel-chair material.

swell was that big on some breaks that it was raining misting salt water the bay carpark 200 metres away.
I just want to say that i surf for fun not to get killed to see them people out in those conditions was truly amazing....10000 percent respect. im gona stick to my 9 foot and under. There is no way in the world id even condemplate paddling out into that..
You know who u are.
sick i apperciate the sport as a spectator when its that big.
view from carpark was nothing short from watching a big wave surfing movie.

Just to clear that up.

So you had an enjoyable day watching surfers towing in at Mainbreak yesterday.

Sounds good. Have you got any photos to share with those of us who had to take advantage of the mid winter sunny weather and have been working flat out this week?

Sounds awesome!
I would love to have seen that (from the safety of the carpark.)
If anyone has any photos or footage (or a story if you were out there) of said day I'm sure there'd be heaps of people interested.
Just watchin and hearin sh...t like that gets me amped up for my own mediocre sessions in the slop!

i couldnt agree more...although theres allways been the rule that when someones free surfing, towing is barred at the same spot,(unless everyones involved), as these tow guys are all paddle in surfers as well. But i must admit that watching crew get towed into your local when its totally maxing out and out of control for paddling into is nothing short of awesome, not to mention Laird and the boys at Jaws..and Teahupoo ect ect....

Yea I agree when its outta control tow, you wont see me in the water. problem is the cowboys with skis dont always follow the rules.
A mate of mine was surfing the outer reef straight out from lanno back beach and some guys started towing around him. I was there that day but just surfing the beach and when I was him later he was saying that it was 6-8ft he was paddleing then these blokes came out and towed around him. Not nice

I agree...sea fleas suck, you get a heap of guys down this way towing each other into 2 foot mush trying to boost. They can go anywhere they want but they always choose to do it right where everyone is surfing. been a few blues cause of it lately as well.
