For you guys who think the internet makes no difference, well here is an example of how it does. My last trip to Bali (and it will be my last trip) I was surfing out at Ulluwatu, that's all I surf when I go out that way as there are so many breaks on one reef, anyway racetracks is breaking most at 3 to 4' and I came back to the loseman I stay at , run by and older balinese surfer also most of the crew there are living permanently. I mentioned that it was a bit strange as 1 day there would be 10 out and the next there would be 40 and unsurfable and the next day 10 again. They explained it was all due to the daily surf report, if it reads that day 3 to 4' with 10 out the masses read it that night and there is 40+ next day, then that night the masses read 40+ and they all go somewhere else and so it goes round in circles. I followed this trend on the computer and surfed uncrowded Ulu every second day and on the alternate days empty legian beachbreaks.
Im not saying it doesn't make a difference. I don't think its as bad as the end of the world, there are other ways people find out about good surf. Crowds i think is part of a growing sport, more importantly a growing population. A classic example is Alkimos. Once upon a time miles from no were, now There is a community being built right onshore that will house something like 45000 people i was told...

Im guessing that is going to get crowded

Secret Harbour once i would surf all day with out seeing another surfer..Days after days. Now hows the crowd

I'll give you a tip, its not busy just because of a few picks on a surf forum.
But why bother come on Seabreeze , an online community just to red thumb anyone who posts picks about surfing great waves

Or locations / spots...What else shoudl we do? Talk sharks

Maybe that might help with the crowds..
