Hey guys,

I want to build myself my own skimboard as an easy introduction into shaping, I was going to have a crack at using Balsa but after some research it seems I might aswell get my hands on some corecell or something similar.
I live in Melbourne, any ideas where I can get my hands on some foam? Approx how much am I looking at (m2 or lm rate)?

Cheers

you might have better luck asking this in the windsurfing forum. those guys are always doing stuff with corecell/divinycell.

Not sure where to look for core in Vicco.

But there's a company in Sydney called Marineware that sells Corecell - I'm sure they'd ship it to you.

try going to somewhere they shape boards im sure the guys at trigger in point leo or the guys at oke surfboards would be able to help but if you building a skim i suggest you use ply or balsa i tried a fiberglass skim once it was was to light and just got trashed but i herd it is really easy to make kiteboards out of fiberglass
