Hey guys, i've finally got myself a short board and i'm looking to get it wet very soon.
I've done a bit of surfing on softies and can stand no worries, but this is my first real board.

I was thinking of heading to Point Leo or Gunnamatta to try it out, can anyone tell me if either of these two would be suitable for a beginner? or should i go elsewhere?

(close to melbourne preferred)

cheers

Pt Leo, Westernport or St Andrews on the eats coast...ocean grove, cosy corner or 13th on the West coast...find an empty peak

Gunnamatta is a good choice. the quicker beach breaks are always better for ya than the mushy points, IMO.
