Hey guys, Just wondering what your favorite fins are and why? It might be easier to stick with FCS as they look to be the most widely used type. just interested in how other surfers choose what fins to use, as lately I seem to swap between K2.1, K3, AM2, M5 and now I can't decide what works for me.

I guess it depends on the board and waves that you are surfing. Over the years I have collected about 20 sets of fins so I am my own test drive centre

On a 6,3 square tail I would normally go for PC5s on my quad I hace Sunny Garcia side fins with GX-Q rear fins, best combo so far.
On my 6,8 I generally use DHD2 fins but if I have to use it in small waves I will use a PC3 just to loosen it up a bit.

I find that glass fins are so much better than plastic fins, they generally have more drive and make the board feel more responsive.

Its all about feel so what ever feels right for you.

Feel free to PM me if you have anymore questions

hey guys,
guess like doggie said its relative to the surfer, but for me personally (80kgs and ride a 6'2 thruster) have been stoked on the Performance Glass K3's, (not the new PC K3's) I find the Performance glass K3's have awesome flex characteristics at the tip, but still plenty of drive. I struggled to find a place near by that had them in stock and found these guys eventually - http://www.naturalnecessity.com.au/shop/categories/Accessories/Surfboard-Fins/

They ship for free and have great feed back if you contact them, anyway happy surfing, yeww

I agree 100% - to me the difference is very noticeable; particularly out of a bottom turn...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I haven't tried the performance glass fins, only the performance core and glass flex. I just picked up a new Simon Anderson 6'6" for Indo and bought a set of K3 performance core, they look awesome, hoping they go as good

That will be a great combo for Indo, K3s should give it a bit of loosness. Have a great trip!!
