Hey,

I m getting a groveller, wide tail, very short and thick, 5'6 for 37L if that helps, let s call it a baked potato type of board.

What are you guys riding / have ridden that works well in fast beach break / small mushy waves ?

I m going for Futures box

Thanks!

i tried them for a day on my new evo last week. was too fast when combined with the MPH speed actually - ended up with blackstx AM thruster - good combo and plenty fast but more drive

could work well on baked potatoe which isnt as fast

They are a totally different fin then the Controller quad, did you read the description on the link I posted? However if you get them for a good price try them out, fins are an individual thing so what works for one person/board might not work for someone else.

I used to have a baked potato and tried bunch of set ups but found the Futures Controller quad https://futuresfins.com/controller-quad.html went the best all around, check out the Firewire forums, lots of guys rave about them.

+1. Split keels are good in wide tails. Jut don't expect it to go vertical easily. They tend to surf flatter. The DVS quad gets good reviews too.

Ok guys ! Actually I emailed Futures over the day and got pretty quick reply that i m sharing

Hi Mat,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just checked out your board because I wasn't familiar with the model and it looks insane! That thing is gonna be so fun!

You are totally on the right track by thinking about the Rasta Quads, they will work great on that board! They have our V2 Foil on the inside of the fins that allows you to generate speed much easier in small/mushier days.

If I was to possibly recommend another set I would say the Controller Bamboo Quad. It is a more drawn back quad setup that was designed for boards with super wide tails. It will give your board a more fishy feel.

Stretch quads with a nubster works for me on my baked potato type board....controllers good fun but I find the stretch combo allows me to surf more "slater like" In my mind at least anyway :-)

I've got the Rasta fins in a board very similar to what I think you're describing - they work pretty well imo
