Cheers bolgo. Good to hear the timbertek has served you well.
on the topic of sunova i saw one the other day and wasn't too keen on it. At $1050 for a shortboard which is $100 more than firewire...made in a low cost country....Overpriced i reckon...am not sure how any of em sell.

Spend another $400 and get a Josh Dowling and you wont have to get another board for ages..

LOL captain...they're both made in the same country mate

Very happy with my Sunova. I landed very heavily on my knee on the front last summer farking around trying to do a switchfoot floater & it has a barely noticeable pressure.

thats my point I guess, why is one 100 more than the other when they are basically the same product made in the same location, just with a different brand name.
each to their own though,..stoked to hear your having fun on yours Mick, where did you get it from (i.e. order direct?)

I've got two Sunovas and a Josh Dowling for sale but no-one wanted them. I think I went down to $500 each for the Ss and $700 for the JD including cover, leash, everything and not a single bite. One is brand new, a 6'8" (probably no cover with that one).

JD 6'4" x 19" x 2 1/2"???
S1, "Pro" model 6'6" x 19 1/2" x 2 3/8"???
S2, "Extractor" model 6'8" x 19-something x 2-something???

Don't really use any unfortunately. The last is a handy back-up gun, so is the middle (well, more an all-round that handles big days). The first is good as an all-round board but I'm on the super-mini experimentation thing for the last few years. I've surfed the 6'4" up to 8' NW cemetary places and it's fine so I don't need three big wave boards and I'm not about to charge anything more than that in my old age.

If I weighed as much as you Legion I would be keen on yr JD. Can not believe they are that difficult to shift. Strange. Maybe those cashed up bogans from WA just want new toys . You would have no trouble moving it over east - they move them quickly over here.

There's a JD in the second hand rack at the surfshop in Dunsborough, as new and an absolute bargain.

Ahhh gotcha...I bought mine off a mate of Bert's who was distributing a few from home before Bert got his new distributors sorted.

That 6'4 looks very nice Legion

Got the Timbertech Unibrow, I got it because it looked like my go to board, really happy with it

Probably the most normal feeling of the non "traditional" built boards I've ever had

I tried kiting on it it held up fine no depressions

I also have a Baked spud 5"1.love the board, rides well and has heaps of people talking when i pull it out of the car.once i'm to old to surf it, it will definitely go on the wall.
looks amazing.

I have the Spitfire and Unibrow both in Timbertek.

Nice boards and look great.

Build on the unibrow really concerns me as I am getting hairline cracks following the grain of the timber. One long one running for a few inches from the nose and no sign of any impact. So far I have found some other similar cracks appearing. The cracks seem to either start where there is a knot in the wood or follow the grain, and are in areas with no signs of an impact. You can feel the crack extends to the surface and is therefore not watertight. No idea what would cause this or how best to fix it. The board itself has probably had no more than a 15 surfs.

The Spitfire on the other hand seems to be fine.

QC should have rejected that wood, particularly in that spot. It almost looks like there's been water ingress too?

Still no-one interested in my boards, despite bargain prices. A couple of tyre-kickers, that's it.

On the subject of my Unibrow, I have to add that Firewire are being super helpful with the board, so can't fault their response at all...

Buy a roll of ding tape $10 and put a patch over it ,make sure you cut it oval shaped so the corners don't lift and peel, its great for fine cracks like that and good for small tears in kites as well
