I'm interested in finding out some more stories about the curse of the Alkamos Reef. Does anybody know of any decent websites which has information on this topic?

I lost my surfboard there one day. I think one of those bloody ghosts took it and are surfing the place daily. On the same wave, two of us had to bail our boards to get under the wave, too big to duck dive. My legrope broke and my friends brand new board was snapped in two. It was too hideous on the inside reef to swim in so I swam back to the boat. the board floted in and out of the lineup for a while then disappeared to the inside of the reef never to be seen again.

now I stay away from the place.

try searching"Alkimos wreck"

It looks like a fair paddle from the beach. Is this the wreak that was featured on the front of a tracks magazine back in the late 90s early 2000s? back when tracks was in a news paper form.

Theres a picture of a guy riding a wave down the side of a wreak in WA and they called it A frames or something.

Im always up for a surf at a new place, how do you get to it

is that the alki your talking about?
nice on a 1.5m to 2m swell and the right tide
there are stories of 7m white pointers that frequent the place sniffing out a feed.
It is a long way out there into the big ocean so your playing with the big boys of town.

i used to be a crayfisherman in two rocks, and the only place that i ever saw sharks was at the alkimos break. in the 5 years, i probably saw about 40 sharks there. Nothing huge but.
Ask the mindarie dive academy about the great white they saw while diving with a group at the alkimos. A guy took some great photos of it as it cruised overhead.
