haha i surfed my local on the weekend with three surfers to 40 boogers.. Im still coming to terms with that, let alone sups Having said that, as long as its safe and sharing, no issue with any craft TBH
I find it hypocritical that the explanation from most SUP riders as to why they SUP " It opens up other waves and it's easy to get away from the crowds" And without fail they always end up in a crowded lineup ??????????
I don't hate SUPs. I own one myself. I think the trick to not being hated is to only taking one out in conditions that suit a SUP, while also aligning with the ability of the rider. Was at South Point a week or two back when we had one of the rounds of XL swell. Two SUPs on the top of the point, one of whom did not look like he was skilled enough to be out there, falling off very frequently. He went for a bigger wave and completely kooked out. Old fella on a shortboard told him he looked like a 'f*%$#& idiot' and shouldn't be out. Wasn't far wrong.
My young bloke plays a game at the skate park called SKATE or SCOOT. Kinda like the basketball game DONKEY. You all know how it goes right? I recon we should play a game called KOOK. You catch a wave on your little undersized 6'3 surfboard and I have to copy what you did on my 8'5 SUP. Lets see who the KOOK is

I don't think this has anything to do with the waves you surf. In Fact it has nothing to do with you.
Its about idiots in small crowded waves, you don't do that!

first pic I see a drop-in ,but no other craft drops in hey 2nd pic I see a guy falling off I gues its a 666 with no one in harm. third I see lots of prones letting a perfect peeling barrel go past,,,NOW that's a crime

Third pic I see 9 foot of heavy, nigh on indestructible board, on 10 foot of leggie about to unleash on the two poor buggers on the inside trying to figure out how the hell they get away from this.

Any prone paddling out with half a brain would not sit behind a sup, your argument is totally floored.
Yep typical, Dude on the sup had the break to himself as he did the right thing and moved away from the crowd and as usual then got crowded out as the little sheep followed him.

The guy floundering with the sup is the same one that fell off on the previous shot, wait till these guys get foils on their boards it'll be carnage.i agree majority of sup riders are wave hogs and have no idea what to do when it gets over 3ft.
I believe there's such a thing as SUP foil now I think one of them is even motorized Seen a pic of a Japanese guy that got cleaned up and it looks like he was in a car accident Also seen a kid with a broken eye socket from a kook on a sup who had no place being in a crowded line up You say that to them and they get all self righteous They hurt someone and they are apologetic Go figure

Or they run over some kid and bust his face up and then skulk off when hes getting first aid....****ing kook better not show his face in Torquay again
I dont really have a problem with sups or anyone else in the water as long as they are sharing and not being a safety issue. One thing I cant understand is all these 20-30 year old men up my way who insist on thinking their hardcore because they ride a lid and trash the place with rubbish and graffiti. Losers

How does that differ from a 10ft long board on a 10ft leggie. Reckon long board is heavier these days with all the carbon sup's being advertised.

A longboarder has a chase of grabbing the board unlike a sup rider who holds onto his paddle.
Also as bad as kook sea sweepers are the hipster longboarders who insist on NOT wearing a leggy in a crowded line ups Then inevitably you see their boards tumbling out of control through the impact zone when they wipe out on a 1ft wave narrowly missing a few heads on the way to the shore
