I am about to get a Murray Bourton 6'6, 21 1/8th and 2 5/8th silver bullet quad. Just asking what type of board cover (are they all good or are there better ones out there) and what size?
Going to bali in july so it will need to handle travel?
Any ideas / brands / designs and cost for quality.
Cheers

Squid covers are very good and well priced. I use whatever I can scam a deal on generally but have found Pro-lite covers to be the cheapest and best quality/protection out of anything I have tried for short and longboards. I am pretty sure that most companies have a day cover (5mm) and heavy duty (10mm) version and the price difference between the two is huge, but prolite covers I think are all 8mm and are I think way cheaper than other 10mm covers with pretty much as good protection for your board. They are also much lighter to carry than many heavy duty covers.

Thanks for that, yeh I checked out Squid, also good to know about prolite having the middle of the road 8mm covers - will look into that.
I suppose the only concern I have is my board is really a quad fish, 6'6. 21wide and 2 and 5/8th depth, do I need to be careful on the shape and type of board cover?
Also do you generally get a board covera little bigger say 6'7 or 6'8??

I know that Creatures of Leisure do a 'fish' type cover. Mine is a 7'6" for a 7'3" board.

My fish doesn't fit into a normal board bag, too wide in the nose.
You will either have to get one made for fish's or get a board bag thats a lot bigger.

O&E and FCS both do excellent covers and definitely do fish covers with wide noses.

Pro lite also do fish covers I believe. I would definatley over-protect the tail though with cardboard//bubble wrap/your towels etc - whatever you can find. Dont be afraid to make your board bag as heavy as you can go without paying excess. If its light enough for the baggage handlers to throw - they will ! I always make my bags heavy enough so that they have to be lifted.
