Anyone been to a surf shop lately that just surprised em? Real surf shops are a bit of a thing of the past. Now I know ads arn't really welcome on the forum and this is not an ad, but I was genuinely surprised when I called into the "locals" surf shop in Yanchep.
Its a super melow atmosphere, couch in fornt of the game console/TV, half pipe in the corner and a few surfing necesities in stock. Turns out there's a local shaper affiliated with the shop litteraly just around the corner too.
Bit different from calling into the surfs shops of present. eg. Waves.
Cought me right off guard this shop, not only somewhere to call into to grab that cake of wax but also a bit of a hangout for school kids and the like. Keep em off the streets and havin a good time in a little unit in Yanchep!
Back to basics I say, good on em, whoever they are that opened the joint

I know I havn't posted anything on here for a while but, this realy did make me want to put it out there!

Surf shop in Apollo Bay has a dog, usually on the couch, his name is Norman by the way.

its funny how retailers both surf and normal are complaining about online stores taking over.

Customer service doesn't cost anything and is the only reason you shop bricks and morta over a webstore.

Funny how , at this time of year, lots of stores struggle with this basic concept.

Luckily my local surfstores still have it dialled.

some bigger department stores up the road are a different story.........
