Maybe he can add a snow park on the side. We could surf all morning snow board all arvo. then have a couple of quiet ones while wathcing all the action from the bar on the viewing platform.

Thanks beatsurf.
Maybe the future might just see more " artificially " produced surfing venues.
Don't laugh, but I think we could just be in for a rather uncertain future when it comes to global climate - and that will affect waves. And therefore the idea of wave pools, " artificial " surf venues and the like might just be something future surfing generations might see a lot more of.
...That is of course if anyone on this dying planet is still around by then.
Not that I know anything much about it, but I've often watched the way small waves form and break. Perhaps the people that are currently researching and studying into this concept artificially generated, surfable waves muight just be getting a bit too carried away in trying to produce the perfect wave.
As I see it all you need is some kind of breakwater, a sandbank that is orientated
diagonally away from it. A sloped bottom edging off into deeper water depending on whether you want the wave to break left or right. If you've ever had a look at the breakwater at Hillary's boat harbour you might see what I mean.
Would it be possible to build a breakwater so that on one side you have a left break and on the other a right break. ...?
The wave doesn't have to be big, maybe 3 foot might do for a bit of fun.
I gather the big task here is the " machine " that generates " artificial" swell .
Alternatively, how about the idea of extending natural reef. I've watched quite a few reef breaks around Perth that almost do it.
Perhaps if they were somehow extended they might produce good or at least better waves.
