Here is a link about an amazing new board construction from WA shaper Bert Burger.

Some people think that they have copied Firewire?

But this should shed a bit of light on that issue.

www.surfscience.com/topics/surfing-lifestyle/shaper-interviews/bert-burger-parabolic-stringers/

have a read

I have been loving my Sunova and the thing has outlasted any polyester/epoxy board I have had in the the past.

try one.

Copied Firewire? Bert worked for Firewire, and his construction methods _are_ the basis of Firewire.

Although you could once say "Sunova Surfboards from Western Australia" you can't anymore. They're made in Thailand. And it's not the same as it once was, when Bert hand-shaped in Mandurah.

I agree, but it is still a Aussie owned company.

Good luck to Bert

What an energetic man Bert is.
Have never met a man who could talk surf boards in such depths.
Bert would be in his factory til late at night living, breathing, teaching, surfing and shaping.
Bert employed young kids from Mandurah and gave them a chance to get in to thte industry.
Having Bert move away from Mandurah has been a huge loss to the surfing industry.

Nothing much new abour Sunova boards, they've been around for years.
Bert got together with Nev Hyman to develop the Firewire boards.
