I've been looking at small wave boards as my current quiver is more performance orientated with a FireWire dominator thrown in for the Mandurah beachies. Was looking at the lost v3 rocket , I'm going to get my usual shaper to copy it ($600 is better than $1000).
Has anyone had a go of this design and does it ride like a fish? I still want something that ride similar to a standard shorty, I'm not a fan of the fish feel

I was talking to the shaper about them as I haven't ridden one. He's been shaping my boards for 17+ years and knows what I do and don't like. He was of the opinion that it would feel fishy to me as I like to lay rail, even in the small stuff. He recommended the diamond tail v3 shape .

Dunno. People talk about twinnies sliding, but my twinnies (I have two I surf) go on rail and do full blooded back foot hacks no worries at all. Possibly if you aren't heavy on the back foot it's not for you. I am super heavy. Even with double 6 with a another 6oz tail pad I cave in my decks under the back foot on a lot of my boards. I am all about rail work having grown up in the 80s.

Maybe talk to him about pulling the nose in markedly and throwing double flyers in the tail too.

Ultimately I am a big fan of listening to your shaper though.

I've had a ci dfr.. Never again ,awesome board but like disprin-dissolves in water. $1000 and lucky to last 6 months , that's why I stick to a local shaper
