Hello fellow forum members.

Just asking for some friendly advice.
I'm selling my 6'4 Hayden Shapes HyptoCrypto (Visit Buy&Sel if your interested, shamless plug).
And I'm looking for a small wave groveller, I'm your perfect definition of a weekend groveller who enjoys smaller crusy waves and I'm definitely no big wave charger, I have a place down near Somers on the Peninsula so I tend to surf that area most, therefore the smaller pointbreaks of Westernport bay.
I'm looking for something short and fat that can paddle extrememly well as I tend to surf in populated areas where old blokes on the 10 ft males sit out the back somewhere near Phillip Island and paddle into everywave making it near impossible to sit further in and actually catch a semi decent lump unless one of them overbalances due to their beer belly and falls off leaving the pickings for us suckers.
I'm looking around 6' mark 22-23" x 2.5-3" with a lot of volume.
I have googled and looked at all the major manufactures and at the moment the Channel island Average Joe or the Fire Wire "Sweet potato" are jumping at me.
I'm 6'4 and 100kgs, but 100kgs fit not 100kgs macca's and froths.

If anyone has any advice on another model, or some advice on the 2 im currently looking at I would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Have a look at the JS Revolution 2 if you are buying something off the rack (I have one), or pop into Trigger and demo the Scurvy Dog or Lo-Fi. I surf the same areas as you and have always had a good experience with Trigger Bros.

What do you dislike about the hypto?

Friend of mine loves his aside from the fact that it is about as fragile as fine china

Dunno, its a good board, but I just don't really like it all that much, just doesn't feel right under my feet.
It doesn't really suit my riding.
Sounds stupid, but you know how sometimes something just doesn't feel right but its hard to explain why.
This is a perfect example of that.

I borrowed a cab sav from my mate so have ridden both models in the last year and the cab Sav is by far superior. it is surprising how well it turns as well as planes and the speed off the mark is v.quick. the baked potato felt really average after. i am pretty sure they do ship to WA as my mate got one sent over from sydney to perth. i think for 60. i am thinking of getting the special on the websitefor christmas as i my wife owes me a present after all her shopping recently joistiksurfboards.com

Add Grant Miller Water Skate to your list. He seems to cater for the bigger guys, as does Murray Burton.

Agree with James and Jah I rate highly the nick Blair Cab sav best board for summer slop and rounds out the quiver perfect
no dings after 10 plus surfs
would not get a Hayden Shapes HyptoCrypto, they are crap so surf and so fragile. dinged to %^$&

Had a hypto. Ditched it after 3 months, wasn't damaged but just didn't like it, way to corky and felt fragile.
Riding a JS ghetto cat now, whilst similar in dimensions, surfs much different different, much better board.
It passes as a groveler, yet can still handle a step up.
I'm happy with that as a one board quiver as I'm a weekend warrior, and Im a pass grade as a surfer, and I'm not going to be charging anything over 6ft anytime soon.

Have a look at Simon Anderson's range. He is about the same size as you and no issues with build quality. He just added a couple interesting new models to his range as well.
