OK, here's one that I've asked about elsewhere and snooped around a bit. Lots of potential but unless someone's been there and seen it working I'll never know:

If you want to have a discussion about the location PM me, because I'm not going to say where it is here in public. Don't be offended if I don't reply to your PM but I will for some of the forum regulars here.

What I want to know is if it's a viable secret spot. Does it work? Does it link up? Anyone surfed there? If it linked from the point to the beach it could potentially line up for 600m+. Even if it didn't it might link for 200m+ sections. Sketchy location, like a lot of WA you're a long way from help.

Please don't post the location if you know it.

Thommo says it works and he's surfed there. But he'll break all my fingers and toes if I give away any more info.

One thing about this place - if you didn't score waves you could _really_ score on the beach and you wouldn't care at all that there were no waves. Pretty obscure clue, no-one will get it unless they know the place.

I wouldn't be surprised if less than 20 people had ever surfed here. A reliable nonsurfing (AFAIK) witness told me he'd only ever seen 6 in many years.

Cryptic man. Well that took me 2 minutes to find! Remember that people that use internet forums have computers.

Talk about that surf spot all you want, I am also interested in what size swell works there, but don't claim that after posting a photo and general area that you are in any way being 'secret' about it.

See Kearnsy, apparently when I thought I was being secret I wasn't at all. That's why this sort of idea won't work. Oh well, at least the location and logistics will prohibit big crowds.

Since it was apparently so easy to find I edited my original post a bit. I'd appreciate if you removed my quote as well Elroy.

I reckon that you have gone the right way about this topic Legian. Its the People that dont surf that pretend to be hardcore, that dont give a toss,That DONT HAVE A LOCAL BREAK, that only get out of town every 2 years and probably live in freakin BALGA, that post on here based on a past life or a wannabe lifestyle that spoil it for the people that have to put up with this BS everyday.
Like I said to some tosser at my local last week- HAVE A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THE CREW THAT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH F*%#@ LIKE YOU EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK![}:)]

Sorry to be abrupt but there is a way to go about finding spots.
Pictures are fine to create intrest, and if you know something- PM someone and try to swap info

*** this post is not directed at anyone- just a stand for not getting burned by weekend warriors***

Done. I don't mind this wave being talked about at all. My mate's bro said it was a real pain of a detour to get there only to find it wasn't working. Oh yeah, and it was 'Real sharky too!' . Just pointing out the difficulties of finding out information about a 'secret' surf spot over a public forum.

Surfers don't like the most well known breaks to be talked about (except in face to face conversation) - even if one can buy hamburgers right next to the beach after a surf .

This doesn't surprise me. I spent some time fishing within 150km of there (very similar ocean topography) a few years back and it was the fishiest, sharkiest water I've ever seen. I even caught a little shark on fly, and saw dozens more. It was their larger cousins that I didn't see that would worry me. And I know they're there. It's very deep out there AFAIK, drops off very quickly. All sorts of marine life hangs about the drop offs, eating, watching, lurking.

spent some time in this area and surrounding areas, and if its where i think it is, i wouldnt go out due to the large FISH that hang around this area. saw one of the biggest sharks i've seen during my time as a fisho not far from there. i dont think you boys have much to worry bout, fair old mission to get there and you would need a fair set of figs to go out there.

I have to say I hope this doesnt lead to other people posting picks like that one.

After the 1st five posts I recon (& I didnt) I could find that place no probs as I have a rough idea where thommo lives and Google maps/Earth.

And on the other hand if its as remote as people are saying what is the big deal?

Picks of local (local = WA) waves should NOT be posted on these forums.

At the end of the day do what you like but IMO its not right

not to mention the nor west blowies trying to bite your toes off and being surrounded by inquisitive deadly sea snakes, amongst other critters.

i can see your point, but i think abit of light hearted discussion is fine, this set up isnt like a margs set up, you just cant drive down the shop and get the paper and your coffee on the way to the surf in your bmw. alot of the west coast is off the beatin track and alot of the time, there arent even any roads to the water. if your willing to put in the effort,[and you will need truck loads of it] then i reckon good on ya. i agree with the photo's not being the best idea to be posted around but i reckon with todays tech its only going to get worse as more people get into surfing.

mate that's just in the water....then if u get out of the surf unscathed u have to deal with the roo ticks, scorpions and snakes that have decided to take up residence in ya gear and that`s just a few things that come to mind. no BS. There`s much better places to surf anyway without going through all that drama, and i`m not only talkin bout that spot, just ain`t worth the hassle even if u check the interwebby and know there`s a swell on it`s way 90% of the time the tides or swell direction are wrong for it anyway .......best off stickin to somewhere that u know u are going to score.
just some advice....over and out.

Yeh Yeh ok ok I get ur point, I WAS WRONG!!!!! I suggested it because I thought it could be an interesting topic, however I overlooked the integrity of the general public . I would just like to see some interesting topics in the surfing forums this year which is why I suggested id. Once again I WAS WRONG!!!

i reckon this has high lighted just how lucky we are over here on the west coast, we can still go hunt new waves, get of the beatin track, even drive cars on the beach. cant do that on the east coast nearly as much as we can here.
