Wednesday, Thursday, go to Phillip Island. More options, less crowded. Do you have to go to Torquool?

Nah but I'm not taking my board or wettie so would need to hire from somewhere.

Also will need to hire car etc etc just a day trip-Torquay seems easier but I am open to suggestions

There wont be much swell wed/thur go to phillipe island woolamai has tons of banks, I have never seen a beach like it, will always have a bank, last time I surfed there I counted 20 banks in 2km 90min from Melbourne.

Or Gunnamatta is on the morington peninsular 60min east coast of melbourne, Ive been told gunnamatta has good banks at the moment.

Both these places are class beachies and no secret and they pick up swell, it is likely to be flat in and around torquay.

Water temp. has dropped a bit, but still way above normal, you are lucking out on the weather by the looks of things.

If you are coming down the Mornington Peninsula, you can hire a board/wettie from Trigger Brothers in Point Leo I think. They will probably help you find a wave in the area on the day as well.

google full circle surfboards for the island, and ring them.

Trigger brothers would be the go for east coast.

I would do the island, easier to find your way around and some great reef set ups if the swell kicks, just more options and a perfect week for it

Zac surf, you will have to ring them, I would be getting on the phone now.

Thanks for the advise, full circle only have a 6'8 funboard as closest thing to shorty and wetties are all 3/2 flatlock...brrrrrr

I will pack my own wettie for just in case and if its real good will give it a go.......even buy a second hand pig

I was there a couple of years ago in April and there was a shop across the road from the beach where I hired a board, pretty cheap fro mmemory - took my own wetty and hired an 8ft mini mal (was sure there were shorter ones there as well ) - did the job nicely and you dont have to worry about dinging those boards.

Waves were about chest to head high - handled it well. That one day I surfed the left hand side of the bay, the beachy in the middle and then the right hander on the other side - awesome!

Yeah well there was a good chance it would have been good as we had waves around our way, Torquay would have been flat as a tack. It is like Autumn hare right now, had a surf early today and got to hot, been offshore for a few weeks now.
