My mate and I spear fish of albany and he has one. We dont like using cause it becomes more of an anoyance and not practical. If the "tail" hits you it hurts like f@ck, and sitting in a line up and your shield touches any one , you will most likely get a smack in the head
Its a good idea but not for this sport. If they made them smaller yeah, but the if its the whip type, your better of saving your money cause you will get sick of it.
You have more chance of getting hit by a car dude.

NOT SO !! I've recently enquired about SHARKSHIELD.
The new model especially designed for surfboards is super light AND
I've also found out that apparently if you wear a full length wetsuit with rubber or Neoprine dive sox you will be INSULATED from any chance of getting an electrical shock by the product.
Now I reckon that particularly for OFF SHORE surfers like me who like to surf outer reefs, sometimes alone, and get to them by boat - that's got to be a good thing. To me it means peace of mind.
